The International Business Times also speculated that the said laptop will have a Touch ID feature which is available on iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus.
"We expect the unprecedented 12-inch model will boast both the portability of the 11-inch model and productivity of the 13" model. The high resolution display will also offer the outstanding visual experience of the Retina MacBook Pro. The offering will likely be lighter and slimmer than the existing MacBook Air to further highlight ease of portability in the cloud computing era. We think the form factor will showcase a much improved clamshell structure, and that it will redefine laptop computing once again following the milestone created by the MacBook Air," an October 2013 report of Mac Rumors quoted Ming-Chi Kuo.
The new Macbook Air with retina Display, unfortunately, due to lack of Intel's supply of the next-generation 14-nanometer Broadwell chips that will make possible laptop designs without internal fans for heat dissipation, because of the kind of new energy-efficient processors, its target release which was October did not push through.
However, since Taiwanese site Industrial and Commercial Times was able to ship the Broadwell core M chips to Apple, they will most likely to release the redesigned 12-inch retina Macbook Air by the end of 2014.
Apple has so far introduced retina models in various Mac lines, with the Air also expected to receive its own high-resolution display next.
So, now that Apple has finally got its hands on the much-awaited Intel M Core chips, probably the New Macbook Air with Retina will grace the holidays.
